RolaBond's Corporate History

RolaBond's history goes back to 1981 when brothers Paul and Brian Weekes found a niche market supplying rolls of paperfelt into the independent wholesale carpet trade.  They were then operating out of shared premises in the Worcestershire town of Kidderminster.

At this stage, the brothers were running the business single handedly, doing everything from unloading lorries, operating the winding machines to delivering the finished rolls in their own lorry.

As business quickly started to grow it was soon evident that larger premises were required.  These were found in Kings Norton, Birmingham and the move was made in 1982.

During the next two years the customer base grew and so did the product range, to include Double Sided Tapes, Waterproof Cloth Tapes and Aerosol Adhesives.  Very soon the Kings Norton factory became too small and so the search for larger premises started all over again.

This time a newly built factory unit on Frankley Industrial Park was located and the move was made.  Around this time we began to supply a range of products into the independent DIY market which proved to be a very successful step as this has become the companies largest market.

RolaBond then went on to develop a range of aluminium flooring trims and kitchen worktop trims all of which are were manufactured on site at Frankley.  RolaBond then operated out of two units at Frankley with a large workforce.  We are now based in a larger single unit at Waterside Business Centre, in Cannock.

RolaBond's customer base while growing all the time still includes many of our original customers from the early eighties - a true sign of customer satisfaction as they just keep coming back to RolaBond.

RolaBond's future will hopefully be as good as its past - if not better, and RolaBond.com is a development we are taking to help boost our productivity and create a promising future for the ever growing RolaBond.
